This is an icycle held up entirely by the twiggy branch of the tree. Look closely and you will see the limb going thru the ice. That is it. Its not attached above or below. It was too big for me get the whole icycle in the picture so you will have to take my word for it.
Snow on the Lawn Chairs Part III. The snow is curling forward and sliding off the chairs from its own weight. There is a physics principle at work here, I am sure, but it is lost on me. I think it looks pretty.
I had a piece of green masking tape on my bathroom mirror for nearly a year. Reminders of things I needed to do but didn't want to do. (I put my finger over one of the items..ahem..ladies you might be able to guess what that item was...) anyway..thank goodness. Finally my 2010 must do's are off the to do list...only 2 months to start the 2011 car and body appointment list...
My race number for the Fort for Fitness race. I finished at 1 hour and 4 minutes.(4 miles) I walked/jogged. Then I came home to find my dog had ripped up the house. Its like he senses it when I am having fun without him! He got into the recycling and a cabinet and pulled some stuff off the counter. The floor is now mix of empty beer bottles, saltine crackers, junk mail and dog food. Yeah cuz cleaning is what I want to do after an early morning jog.
This is something I saw while walking on the Oprah Trail (she helped pay for it so I named it after her, not sure what the real name is.) Unfortunately, the area is losing its charm and the sight of rusting farm tools is being replaced by paved parking lots.
I was on the couch yesterday afternoon with a virus. From where I laid, I noticed how bright the light was in the kitchen with the sunshine coming through the sliding glass door. I thought of the phrase 'go toward the light' or in this case it might be 'go toward the old wallpaper'....
'Curiosity killed the cat,' remarks the cashier as I tell her I bought the squid ink pasta on a whim. I also picked up beet pasta last week. I am more leery of beets than squids so...this should be interesting.
Learning to Curl in a heat wave: yep, that is where I spent yesterday evening. I was at the ice rink throwing 45 pound rocks and sweeping like a maid on meth. My armpits and knees are sore today. Curling is a work out!
I found wild strawberries growing in my yard. I am excited like I have been visited by the fruit fairy ( a distant cousin of the tooth fairy). However, after 'googling' wild strawberry I realize that many people consider this an invasive weed!
I shredded a shoe with my lawn mower! It was part of the shoe garden I planted last year. This used to be a navy blue low pump with buttons down the front. It was a good shoe on my foot and also as holder for a dusty miller plant. RIP blue shoe.
I remembered where I planted the sage and a couple other herbs last year. Here. In the wildflower garden which is overrun by ajuga. It may look pretty but it is choking everything except a few random dandelions!
